Oh technology, you are spite.
Currently in Atlantic Beach 3 hours outside of Raleigh, NC. I’d love to busting some more videos your way, but alas, another hitch in the giddy-up.
The firewire 800 that connects my external hard drive to my laptop was being fussy this last week and finally gave out on Friday when I got into the Raleigh airport. This sucker’s really important because all the footage is on that hard drive. But I thought, eh, no big deal, I’ll just pick up a new one on the drive to Atlantic Beach. 2 Best Buys, 1 Radio Shack, a Wal-Mart Superstore, an Office Depot AND a Staples later, no cigar. The poor guy I’d hitched a ride with, Joel, was very sweet about it all but I could tell the grand exploration of every technology-type store off the 70 was getting old. But no matter where I went when I asked for what I needed I was met with blank stares. Guess not a lot of video editing goes on around here.
Soooo, now to figure out how to get one of these suckers so I can get back to editing this stuff! I get to Austin Monday night and I figure they’re likely media savvy enough to carry these things. Off on the search for the Holy Grail 800!
